We have received a few questions over the past couple days about registering on the new BOU website. Hopefully this will clear up any questions you may have, but please post a reply if you have had any problems or any other questions about the registration and it's process.
Registering for the website does
NOT sign you up as a member of BOU. There has been some confusion about this with the "Who's Online" section on the website showing how many guests vs members we have online. Members in this case is registered users with the website.
BOU membership is not required to participate in the forums or to register for the site.
So why register for the site? Well the benefits are as follows -
- Ability to post photos to the gallery
- Ability to participate in the Forums
- Easier/Streamlined ability to comment on Articles (no Captcha verification for registered users when commenting on an article)
The registration process is as follows -
- Click on Create an Account in the login section located in the top of the right sidebar
- Enter your Real Name, Username, Email & Password
- Click on the Register Button. This will start the 2 step Verfication process. We will record your info in our database and send a verification email to the email address you provided. Once you click on the link in the email your account will become activated and you may now take advantage of all the site's features
Please note that we are collecting your email address for the sole purpose of validating that you are a real person (Avoid automated systems posting to the site). You may also receive email/notifications when you subscribe to a thread in the Forums. This will send you a notification anytime someone posts a message to a thread you are subscribed to. We do not use your email address or information for any other reason and it will not be sold/exchanged or released to any third party.
Please take a few moments to register for the site if you have not already and begin taking advantage of everything the BOU website has to offer.
