Bow, Rifle or Muzzy? 2 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 2
Going along with the Poll, What does every body hunt with???

Most years I hunt with all three. This year I don't have a smokepole tag.

I always hunt elk with a bow. I was a dedicated hunter until last year and really enjoyed hunting deer with a bow but most years I killed on the muzzy hunt.

I also really enjoy hunting deer during the rut in Colorado with a rifle.

What does everybody else do???

I hunt with a bow most of the time, but admit that the last mature bull elk I took was with a muzzleloader and the last cow elk I took was with a 30.06. Of course, that's going to change this year.

Deer is bow only. No challenge with a rifle...if I can find it, (and I usually can), it's dead.

Last time I had a turkey tag, I started out with a bow, but couldn't deal with a blind and couldn't hold a draw long enough without one, so went with the trusty 12 gauge.

I doubt I'll ever take another buck or bull with a rifle or a muzzie. I've found that I enjoy the hunt too much and want to milk every minute out of every season, even if that means I don't punch my tag. Of course, this season just might make me a liar...I've just got a feeling.

this is my 3rd year if the dedicated program, in the 2 previous years ive hunted with a muzz for 3 hrs, and with a rifle a grand total of 1 day!!!!!! i have chased deer with a bow for months on end though i will not be rejoining the dedicated hunter, ill just keep with archery.

I have not hunted elk with a rifle for 10 years, and will probably never hunt utah elk with a rifle again.

Out of state hunts, i will hunt with a rifle, but do enjoy archery elk hunting during the rut!!!

Its archery only for me, however, two years ago I did pick up a rifle for the first time in seventeen years for a Wyoming antelope hunt. I have to be honest, after I shot my antelope, I was left with a less than satisfying feeling—almost like I’d cheated. Maybe that feeling came from the minimal effort that I put into the hunt or maybe it was because I wasn’t wearing my loin cloth that all us traditionalist wear when hunting with our stick bows.

I enjoy all 3. Been in the dedicated hunter for 9 years and harvested 2 deer in that time, 1 muzzy and 1 rifle. Dont know if i will rejoin next year. Leaning more to archery all the time. I like the ded. hunter for the time I get to spend in the woods with a weapon in My hand. Not so much for the kill but knowing im hunting just does something for Me!

I hunt with all three. I shoot my bow all year long and do lots of 3-D shoots but I quit bowhunting for elk because of the terrible season dates. I alternate every other year or so on deer. Archery then Muzzy, and so forth. I hate to say it I'm in the pumpkin patch for elk season. Have not killed one in a while but I'm sure it won't feel as good as a bow kill. I'm just boycotting these dates.
I even use a muzzy on some of my cow elk hunts just because it feel better. This year I have a new OMEN that needs to see some blood, so this years cow might be catching an arrow.
