What ground blinds work best? 2 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
I purchased a Cabelas lightning blind to bowhunt turkeys in this spring and to use for this years deer hunt in Southern Utah. After I got it out and tried to shoot out of it, I discovered quickly that it wouldn't work for me due to having my elbow hit the back with my arrow barely sticking out the window. I am 6'4" with a 31" draw and I plan on taking at least one of my sons out to hunt deer. I plan on returning my blind and picking up a new one at Cabelas. I have $200 max to spend, so which blind would you guys recommend and in what camo to be used in sagebrush and cedars primarily? I appreciate your suggestions.

You may want to see if you can find a Primos Ground Max Vision. It should be within your price range and is comparable to the Double Bull blinds that I've hunted out of quite extensively. The Double Bull blinds are by far the best IMO, but the cost makes owning them a bit prohibitive. The vision from primos has most of the same features (Primos now owns DB) but is made out of a different materials that I am assuming is helping to keep the costs down. If you can find one I'd go for it - I haven't seen them around since word got out on other forums a few months ago but I think they'll be the best you can do around $200. Walmart had them online if your unable to find them locally.

Good luck and let us know what you decide on!
